We assembled developers and helped a major bank avoid losing money due to task downtime.

Hello! We’re AB Soft Development, a company that specializes in IT outstaffing.

CenterCredit, a top Kazakhstani bank, was urgently looking for IT specialists. Let me tell you how we brought analysts and a developer onto the project in just two weeks and helped manage a large influx of tasks.

What the Case is About. By quickly bringing in outstaff specialists, the bank was able to continue implementing projects that had stalled due to a lack of analysts and developers.

Client.

Bank «CenterCredit» is among the top 5 largest banks in Kazakhstan, serving 3 million individuals and 140 thousand organizations. The bank is digitizing services and introducing innovations to the market, such as being the first in Kazakhstan to launch transfers by phone number to another country. That's why the bank always needs strong IT professionals.

Task.

In September 2022, we learned from a partner that «CenterCredit» urgently needed system analysts and iOS developers. The bank had been unable to find suitable specialists for 4 months. We don't know the exact reason, but in general, this is a common situation: searching for highly qualified IT specialists can take up to six months. The task was to find specialists as quickly as possible.

«CenterCredit» initially had reservations about outsourced developers because they had no experience with this work format. But when they couldn't find employees for months and tasks were pressing, the bank decided to take the risk and try it out.

Specialists were urgently needed. For any digital bank, it is crucial that tasks do not stand idle without developers: the niche is highly competitive, and being the first to offer the best digital services is essential. Not to mention that digitization brings in more money. Therefore, the ideal time for a specialist to join the project was as soon as possible.

How we recruited developers in 2 days

We agreed to select 3 system analysts and 1 iOS developer, all at the senior level. The next day, we proposed several candidates, for whom the bank arranged technical interviews. All candidates passed the interviews, as we implement a regular multi-level internal qualification assessment—we initially offer high-level specialists. Offers were extended to those developers with whom the bank found it easiest to connect.

The system analysts immediately started onboarding, while the developer managed to accept another offer while internal approvals were underway at the bank. Professional programmers are flooded with offers, so they sometimes decline one project in favor of another. We are prepared for such situations, so we offered a replacement within one day: we selected a senior developer who closely matched in individual personality traits.

Before starting work, we sign documents, and it was critical for the bank that the contract was concluded with a Kazakhstani company. At that time, we did not have a branch in Kazakhstan, so we traveled there and opened one. This also took two days, and now we are ready to cooperate with any company outside the Russian Federation (RF).

Work Results

We identified senior specialists for key positions within two days and integrated them into the project within two weeks, including the time spent onboarding. Our specialists were responsible for:

  • System analysis

  • Anti-fraud measures

  • Biometric identification

  • Verification of IIN

  • Deposits

  • Rewards, their calculation, and SMS validation

  • Various tasks aimed at improving platform functionality: registration, cards, graphics, etc.

The bank was very satisfied with the speed of our work, and they also appreciated the effort of the specialists themselves and their communication skills. According to the NPS score, the client consistently rated us 10 out of 10.

In many respects, our smooth operation was facilitated by prompt feedback. Typically, we engage with end clients through a partner, but this time we collaborated directly with the bank. This is advantageous for both us and the bank: it enables us to promptly receive feedback about the developers and respond swiftly to any emergencies that may arise.

If you've been searching for a developer for several months already, there's no need to wait—it could drag on. Invite outstaff developers to join your project and immerse them in tasks within a few days to expedite project implementation.

I'd be happy to showcase other case studies and assist you in finding developers as quickly as possible.
